ITS are pleased to announce that the Password Self Service facility is now available.
What is Password Self Service?
Password self service is an online facility for students and staff to change their St Andrews password (for email, computer, SSO etc.)
The new self-service facility removes the need to contact IT Services if you forget your password. This service can be used to reset your password from anywhere, at any time.
This service is available to all students and staff of the University of St Andrews.
In order to use this service, you must register. When you reset your password, a security token will be sent to your mobile phone (and email, if you choose this option). Simply key in the security token and your password will be changed.
How do I register to be able to reset my own password?
To register, from the University’s home page in the search box, type password or passwords. This should find the ‘change your password’ page. You’ll find the links for registration on this page.
Similar to the set up for online banking. For security reasons during the registration process you will be required to:
a) Set a PIN
b) Provide your mobile number (mandatory) – as a security token will be sent to this number should you ever need to change your password.
c) Provide a non-university email address (optional) – we can also send a security token to the email address you have provided.
There is two short demo guides to show you the steps involved with registration and resetting your password. You’ll find other information on the web pages. If you have further queries, please contact the IT Service Desk who will be happy to help.
If you are unable to reset your password using this system, please contact the IT Service Desk for help.
